The performance assessment category is designed to allow candidates of any age at any level to perform for the adjudicators similar to a traditional exam format. This category is a free repertoire format and the candidates will be assessed based on their level.
Candidates must prepare free choice repertoire to perform live for the adjudicator. The performance duration must not exceed the maximum duration allotted in the category. All breaks in between the pieces, tuning and preparation must be included in the total time duration.
Accompanist Candidates are recommended to use a live accompanist. If a live accompanist is not available, the competitor may perform unaccompanied, observing rests in the pieces, or may use a backing track.
Singing Repertoire Candidates may select repertoire from the following categories:
Opera aria Classical repertoire (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Contemporary period) Folk/Traditional Broadway/Musical Theatre/Jazz
The candidates will be allocated a time slot on either 16th, 17th or 22nd June 2024 to perform for the adjudicators. No audience is allowed in the assessment room.
